Re: Cùng nhau học tiếng Anh trên WTT
Hi all,
How are you today? I hope everthing is welcome.
This morning, I went to Expo fair with my co-worker. This year, Expo fair isn't attracted as other years. I visited every industry-show to finding new opportunity for business. Accordingly, I has not gotten anything unless I have some new friend, who are from Korea.
I would appreciate if you correct my paragraph. Moreover, could you translate this sentence " Mặt hàng này chúng tôi không sản xuất nữa, nhưng chúng tôi có thể báo giá mặt hàng thay thế là A".
This is my translate: " we haven't suppied this Item for long time, but we can quote for replacely A.
Thank you for your hepl.
Best Regard,
Hà

Re: Cùng nhau học tiếng Anh trên WTT
I am newcomer, Seeing this topic by chance, I like much. I do not know which Universities have you graduated from? yet, I find that all of you in this group can write in English very well.
Regarding to the grammar in English, we have to learn much and spend much time on studying this matter. The use of the parts in sentences smoothly is quite complicated. I learn and learn but until now, I have not remmember all I learnt in University. Maybe, I do not have chance to use English or take part in examination. possibly, after I have baby, my memory is very bad
Hope to get feedback from all
Thanks

Re: Cùng nhau học tiếng Anh trên WTT
I have experienced the same in Russia. My Russian friend and I went to the train station in St. Petersburg so that he could help me buy a ticket to Moscow. We were in line for 30 minutes and were advised that the ticket booth was for Russians only

(no sign showing that). And the saleslady didn’t know where the counter for foreigners was. We had to go around, and fortunately, we found it in the corner. And you know what, each foreigner was accompanied by a Russian to help her/ him communicate with the salesperson.
The same thing might have happened to me in Italy, if I couldn’t have recalled some French vocabulary. I was looking for an ATM, but couldn’t ask anyone since they speak either Italian or French. Finally, I could manage to make an understandable sentence “ou est la banque?”
. Hopefully, I found the bank where employees speak English.
In this point, I think Germans are a little bit nicer. They talked to me in English when I was there.
No, I haven’t. We are collecting funny stories about leaders in Entertainment Box. Why don’t you contribute yours?Have you heard about President J. Chirac recently walking out of an EU conference when his Finance Minister started addressing the audience in English?!
(if it is funny, of course. But I’m sure it is.)
She didn’t speak anything when I was in Vietnam. Whenever she wanted something, she just pointed at itHihihi... your worry is not unfounded! Has she started speaking? It's amazing to hear your child's first word. I was in awe the 1st day my daughter pulled herself to stand up.
(and she got it
). After I left, she spoke some single word (so her words sounded bossy). When she started kinder garten, she has become so talkative that the babysitter always complains with my husband
I didn’t. The new ordinance on Legal Profession doesn’t allow us (employees who work for the Government) to practice lawNot at all! It's nice to get to know people from all walks of life! Then why did you switch to lecturing?
. So I still have the license but I couldn’t represent any clients in the court. Actually, before it went into effect, I had 3 jobs, and now 2.
Happy birthday to Linh con thenThank you for asking! My daughter is almost 1 year old. We will be throwing her a celebration party next week. We are living in Singapore. So next time you have a chance to stop by here, do give me a call! However, our roots are still very much in Vietnam, as my parents live in Hanoi and my husband's in HCMC.
.
I went to Singapore for a training course at NUS in 1998. Actually, I don’t like this country, because everything is artificial, even the clean environment. But, how come that you are living in Singapore now?
I really can’t stay home full-time. It’s stressful. So I went back to work when DQ was almost 4 months (fully obeyed the labor code on maternity leavehehehe... on this point, you'll be sorely disappointed! I am holding the most unglamorous but very meaningful job, a fulltime stay-at-home mom!
I stopped working when I had Dan Linh. Now that she's almost old enough to enrol in a playgroup, I will re-join the workforce soon. Previously, I worked as Assistant Trader in a Jap co, and then as Contract Admins Exec in a US co.
Sleep tight
!
). When you go back to work, please tell us how you feel about that

Re: Cùng nhau học tiếng Anh trên WTT
Even in Singapore, some people who are Chinese-educated don't speak English at all. When I was still working, I had lunch at the hawker centers near the office. I had to point when ordering food, since most of the hawkers didn't speak English.

I think the Germans' English is better than the French's. My ex-bosses were all German and they spoke flawless English. But when they started sprouting German, it sounded awful!

Thank you! How time flies! At this time last year, I was still anxiously awaiting her arrival into the world! And in a week's time, she'll be 1 year old!

I signed a 3-year bond with S'pore govt, which required me to work in S'pore for 3 years after graduation, and since I've been working and living here. That's a shortcoming for the city-state, but in return it offers a stable and peaceful society. Their public service is reliable and their education is not bad either, except the Singlish lah!
Nguyên văn bởi Lullaby
I met my husband in S'pore, which explains why I married a guy from HCMC
! Had I remained in HN, I would have married a Hanoian!
We have discussed going back home, but maybe that's a longterm plan. For the time being, we are making our home here.
hehehe... stressful and boring! I had harbored such a thought too about fulltime housewives.

But now that I myself is staying home with DL, I feel I am blessed in a way, for I am lucky enough to be able to take care of her, watch her grow everyday and witness her every milestone. I wish I could do the same if I have a second child, but I guess not, because I shouldn't have too many blank intervals in my CV.
I think I would initially feel excited and eager, but at the back of my mind I'll be worry wondering how my baby is doing and if she's in good hands. Before having her, I had been working non-stop from 9am till 9pm everyday, feeling stressed out and unhappy. Then I realized I needed a change and decided it was time we had a baby (we had been married for 3 years plus then).
Nguyên văn bởi Lullaby
After all that talk about taxing work life in S'pore, though, I would still go back to the labor market and earn my own keeps!
Office buzz still has its appeal, especial to a home-staying mom like me! hehehe...

Re: Cùng nhau học tiếng Anh trên WTT
Hi all,
May I join this topic? I've had 4 years in University to learn English but had 5 years not using E in my job. That's why I forget all. Sometimes, I feel so regretful...not choosing a job in which i use E everyday.
Hope this topic & all mothers here can help me to recall my English skills.
Anyone who know webs that send us excercise via email to learn E everyday?

Re: Cùng nhau học tiếng Anh trên WTT
Thank you for replying me. When clicking on the title I saw 1 page which contains 2 parts: a Vietnamese part and an English one. However, the problem is these 2 parts are totally different compared to each other. So I wonder they are the original essay and the translated copy or not?
